Basketball Club Seagull was established in 2014 in Herceg Novi, when it started its operations by organizing the first MINI BASKET school. The club's work has been modified and adapted to FIBA Mini Basketball. The training sessions are tailored to the needs of children, and the primary method of learning is through playing. The aim of our work is to stimulate the proper psycho-physical development of children while building a healthy attitude towards life and the environment. In the four-year period so far, the club has formed three competitive selections that participate in the competitions organized by KSCG.

The goal of Basketball Club Seagull is to form all competitive selections from MINI basketball to juniors over the next four years. Additionally, in line with the development dynamics of the competitive selections, we aim to establish the first Seagull Herceg Novi summer camp and organize a large number of tournaments for all age categories.

APPROACH AND WORK METHOD

Working with children is organized in a way that allows each child to express their talent, socialize with peers, and compete. Being aware that only a very small number of players end up in a position to live and earn a living playing basketball, BC Galeb wants to provide its members with the opportunity to utilize the basketball knowledge gained through training in our club in the best possible way in other segments and perspectives related to basketball.

Basketball training is not just a hobby that enhances a child's physical development, but also provides a solid foundation for a decent future regardless of whether the child becomes a top basketball player or not. Due to the large number of children and different age categories, the entire work plan and program is designed to suit each age category specifically. In essence, in MINI BASKET, basketball training is modified and adapted to the needs of children aged 6 to 8, while working with younger pioneers, pioneers, and cadets focuses on learning, improving basketball skills and developing motor abilities.

In creating our work plan and program, we have taken into account all the laws of sports training (for the given age group), the specificities of the sport, principles and methods of work, as well as the expertise, creativity, and knowledge of the coaches, as well as the geographical location, climate, and other natural resources that enable us to work more efficiently.

The entire program is structured into multiple levels and tailored to the basketball age and level of knowledge of club members. Within the training activities, regular professional development and specialization of the coaching staff is conducted.

The plan and program are designed to be flexible enough to adapt to the age, natural oscillations, and work capacity of all athletes in the club, the weekly microcycle within the Mini Basket school, as well as four to five times a week for the older selections.
